“Assassination is an art form, man. An expression of joy, love, all that good stuff. And a little mutual bloodlust elevates it to a whole 'nother level.”
CHARACTER SUMMARY
Born the younger middle child of the Omokage family of assassins, Yugamu has been raised to kill under the mechanical skyline of the Tokyo Residential Complex since childhood. Bodily modifications, poison training, anatomy lessons...everything has been for the sake of turning him into the killing machine the rest of his family expects him to be. Growing up, however, he experienced a disconnect that lead him to detest his job for one reason and one reason only; the killing was loveless, and while the bloodshed brought him pleasure, the act itself did not. After years of working on a mental downward spiral, one chance meeting brought him to another teenage assassin in the same boat. Rather than kill each other like tradition dictated, they ended up bonding, with the promise made between them for Yugamu to end her life and free her from a life of assassination. Before this promise could be kept, however, Yugamu ended up being shuttled off to Last Defense Academy; no chance to return until the job of protecting humanity is done.
While starting out at the Second to Last Defense Unit, he and the rest of his teammates were called to join the main campus, banding together to defend the last bastion of Humanity's hope for the future within the school walls. Yugamu is waiting to quit the family business, intent on boarding that escape pod back home and live life on his own terms. Killing who he wants, each cut and squeeze made with affection and care, cutting a path of his own rather than walk the heartless trail his family has left for him. While it may be paved with blood, the welcoming arms of the Special Defense Unit make it an easy trek.
Yugamu's love is twisted and warped, however genuine it is; he sees murder as intimacy, an act to be done between two people with strong feelings. His greatest desire is a mutual dance to the death, although he doesn't mind the idea of killing someone whom he cares about without retaliation, if they so desire. The romantic permanency of death, the love he wishes to put on display to pull someone apart and feel their heart slow beneath his hands...his upbringing and feelings towards murder are complicated, but this is the current path he's on. Regardless of the actual death part, though, he's got a sick set of immoral kinks that he's not afraid to both put on display and on the table for others to indulge in.
